Abstract

Penelitian mengenai degradasi fotokatalitik zat warna metilen biru menggunakan komposit CoFe2O4-SiO2-TiO2 telah dilakukan. Sintesis komposit CoFe2O4-SiO2-TiO2 dilakukan dengan struktur core-shell-shell dengan CoFe2O4 sebagai inti magnetik yang selanjutnya dilapisi oleh SiO2, kemudian dilapisi oleh TiO2 sebagai material fotokatalis. Karakterisasi komposit CoFe2O4-SiO2-TiO2 dilakukan dengan menggunakan XRD, SEM-EDS, DRS UV-Vis, VSM. Hasil Karakterisasi XRD dari CoFe2O4 menunjukkan puncak tajam pada 2θ sebesar 34,38 dengan ukuran kristal sebesar 33,11 nm. Hasil morfologi SEM-EDS menunjukkan ukuran material hampir bulat dengan komposisi unsur yang menyusun berupa Co 23,19%, Fe 37,63%, O 26,18%, Si 12,25% dan Ti 0,75%. Hasil karakterisasi menggunakan VSM menunjukkan nilai magnetisasi saturasi sebesar 16,59 emu/g. Hasil karakterisasi DRS UV-Vis menunjukkan nilai energi band gap sebesar 1,66 eV. Kondisi terbaik dalam mendegradasi zat warna metilen biru menggunakan komposit CoFe2O4-SiO2-TiO2 pada pH 6, konsentrasi 12 mg/L dan waktu kontak selama 180 menit. Zat warna metilen biru sesudah degradasi dianalisis menggunakan KLT didapatkan nilai Rf zat warna metilen biru sesudah didegradasi sebesar 0,79. Hasil analisa GC menunjukkan bahwa metilen biru telah terdegradasi menjadi senyawa yang lebih kecil.
