Abstract
A medical waste chopper is a tool used to reduce the size and yield of crushed materials. which are desired. In this tool there are main components used, namely the induction motor, the induction motor is used because it has a strong and simple construction. But of course, there will be problems with the machine, it will reduce the workability of this medical waste chopping machine, therefore it requires the best possible efficiency and effectiveness process. To determine engine performance, measurements were made using the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) method. With the use of the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) method to measure the effectiveness of the machine. This method has three measurements, namely availability, performance, and quality. The research was conducted for 7 days, the total value of the percentage of availability was 97.50%. The value of performance efficiency obtained a total percentage of 96.44%. And for the total value, the percentage of Quality Ratio is 81,76%. From all three measurements, the OEE value is 75%. The results obtained are not in accordance with the Word Class Ideal OEE value with a percentage value below 84%, which causes the OEE value to be below the ideal value due to downtime or time loss where medical waste is clogged in the chopper knife, so the working hours of medical waste cutters stop. As a proposal for this medical waste chopping machine, a continuous evaluation must be carried out to obtain an effectiveness value that is in accordance with the standard. Keyword: Effectiveness, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, availability, performance, quality.
