Abstract

This research was aimed to find out a variety of problems that affected loading and discharging goods at Palembang harbor and to find out the effect of the work of loading and discharging at Palembang harbor toward the economy of South Sumatra, the effect of export-import credit toward Gross Domestics Regional Bruto (GDRB) South Sumatra, and the effect of export credit toward export value of South Sumatra. This research used qualitative and quantitative analysis technique in which quantitative analysis used multiple regression analysis using Eviews 6 with Ordinary Least Square. The findings showed that work of loading and unloading, export credit (X) and import credit (M) affected the economy of South Sumatra which was indicated by the number of GDRB of South Sumatra (Y). This could be seen from the coefficient determinant (R2) of 0,956215 in which coefficient R2 showed independent variable, BM, X and M could describe variable Y of 95,62% and the rest of 4,38% was described by the other factor outside of the model.
