Abstract

The onion chopping machine were maked easy for small and medium businesses to process onions using a chopper machine so that the production process is no longer done manually to achieve good results in terms of quantity and quality. The method used was a Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) with two research factors those were onion size (A) and blade rotation speed (B) with four levels of treatment and each combination treatment was repeated three times. The parameters of this study were the working capacity of the machine, chopping efficiency, Slicer uniformity and the machine of material left in the appliance. The result of this study showed that the combination treatment of onion size and blade rotation speed had a significant effect on the effective capacity of the tool and uniformity of the results ot the workshop but did not have a real impact on the effeciency of the machine and materials left behind in the machine. For the highest effecitive capacity value of the tool is found in a combination of large onion size (26- 30 mm) and blade rotation speed of 700 rpm (A1B1) of 9,02 kg/jam. For the highest value of elongation efficency of small onion size treatment (16-20 mm) and blade rotation speed of 500 rpm (A3B3) of 86,50%. For the highest value of uniformity of the yield of the fight against the size of large onions (26-30 mm) and the rotation speed of the blade 500 rpm (A1B3) as much as 22,81%.
