Abstract

The objective of this study is to reveal and analyze the performance of animal slaughter industry in Indonesia. The data used in this study is the secondary data in the periods of 2001-2011 and analyze using descriptive qualitative method by presenting various tables and charts of labor productivity, value added, and efficiency. The average of labor productive growth is 12.42 percent per year resulted from the growth of productive factors (output) of about 29.27 percent per year. It is bigger i f compared to the number of labor of about 17.98 percent per year. The avarage of value added development is 30.77 percent per year resulted from the growth of output value of about 29.27 percent per year influenced by the medium cost of about 39.48 percent per year. The average of the efficiency development is 0.6 per year (E<l,inefficient) resulted from the value added generated from the medium cost used. The performance of animal slaughter industry in Indonesia in the year of 2001-2011 experienced good growth, it can be seen from the growth of the labor productivity and positive value added though the use of productive factor in less efficient.
