Abstract

Technological developments in agriculture are growing rapidly, one of which is hydroponic cultivation technology. Hydroponic systems are emerging as an alternative to farming on limited land. Hydroponics Higrow Farm Palembang is a company engaged in the production, marketing, and fulfillment of hydroponic vegetable needs in the city of Palembang. In order for the business process to run well, the right development strategy is needed to get maximum results and income so that the business is profitable. The objectives of this study were: (1) to measure the knowledge, attitudes and skills of hydroponic vegetable agribusiness actors in the hydroponic garden of Higrow Farm Palembang, (2) to calculate how much profit the hydroponic vegetable agribusiness business in the Hydroponic Garden of Higrow Farm Palembang was during the covid-19 pandemic, ( 3) to formulate strategy for developing hydroponic vegetable agribusiness in the Hydroponic Garden of Higrow Farm Palembang. This research was conducted at Higrow Farm Palembang hydroponics from February to March 2021. The method used in this research is a case study method. The sampling method used is the purposive sampling method and the number of samples taken is the owner and all workers at Higrow Farm Palembang hydroponics, totaling 3 people. The results showed that (1) the behavior of hydroponic vegetable farming actors at Higrow Farm Palembang which was measured based on 3 indicators, namely knowledge, attitudes, and skills included in the high criteria with an average score of 2.62 (2) Higrow Farm hydroponic vegetable business income Palembang amounting to Rp110,552,733.33 per year with a profit or R/C ratio of 1.47 (3) The IFE matrix shows Hydroponics Higrow Farm Palembang has been able to take advantage of strengths to overcome weaknesses with a total value of 3.59 and the EFE matrix shows Hydroponics Higrow Farm Palembang has been able to take advantage of opportunities to overcome threats with a total value of 3.67. The quantitative approach SWOT Matrix shows Hydroponics Higrow Farm Palembang is in quadrant I, namely the SO (Strength-Opportunities) strategy. The strategy formulation on the SWOT diagram produces alternative strategies that are in accordance with the company's circumstances, namely: increasing production and increasing the types of vegetables produced to meet consumer demand and to create customer loyalty programs such as delivery services, memberships, and special discounts.
