Abstract

PT Tambang Bukit Tambi is a company engaged in the coal mining business. The increasing demand for coal also requires careful planning by considering technical and economic aspects so that production achievements can be met. This study aims to design a safe pit in order to calulate the volume of overburden and tonnage of coal that will be produced and to calculate the required mining operational costs. The study was conducted by observing mining activities to obtain cycle time data then designing pits using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 software, calculating the total of overburden and coal using Surpac 6.6.2 software, and calculating mining operational costs until overburden and coal were excavated. From the study results, it was found that the pit design criteria were 2 meters wide, 5 meters high, 70º single slope, and 55° overall slope. The number of levels produced at the lowest coal elevation is 6 levels with a total height of 28 meters and 2 levels with a total height of 7 meters. The number of levels produced at the highest topographical elevation and the highest coal elevation is 6 levels with a total height of 23 meters and 2 levels with a total height of 7 meters. Based on the calculation, the overburden volume obtained was 1.828.155,23 BCM with a stripping time of 12,18 months, and the coal tonnage obtained was 917.789,32 tonnes with a life of mine 11,47 months. The total mining operational cost required is IDR 36.666.946.747.
