Abstract

This study aimed to find the influence of Gross Domestic Product, Deposit Interest Rate, and Indonesian Composite Stock Price Index and Exchange Rate on the Demand for Government Bonds in Indonesia. The data were secondary obtained from the Bank of Indonesia, Central Statistics Agency and Indonesian Stock Exchange Statistics from the year 1998 to 2012. Ordinary Least Square (OLS) was used to analyze the data. This study showed that Gross Domestic Product had a positive influence on the demand for Government Bonds with the coefficient by 0,126- The Deposit Interest Rate had a negative influence on the demand for Government Bonds with the coefficient by 0,404. The Indonesian Composite Stock Price Index had negative influence on the demand of Government Bonds with the coefficient by 0,166 and Exchange Rate had a positive influence on the demand for Government Bonds with the coefficient by 2,676.
