Abstract

Natural rubber latex is one of main product of rubber plantation in Indonesia. But, one of the obstacles in the rubber tree production is leaf fall disease caused by Pestalotiopsis sp. This research aims to find out the utilization of lateks protein serum as biofungicide against Pestalotiopsis sp. the pathogen of leaf fall disease on rubber. This research was carried out at Sembawa Research Institute in the Plant Protection Laboratory, South Sumatera from December 2020 until March 2021. Completely Randomized Design non factorial with 8 treatment levels and 4 replications was applied for this experiment. The study was carried out by taking in vitro and detached leave test. The data obtained were analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) comparisons test with p value 0.05. The result showed that latex protein serum as biofungicide is not able to inhibit the growth of Pestalotiopsis sp. but showed effect on hypha abnormalities.
