Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is a condition in which a person suffers from a shortage of food for a long time, which is characterized by low body weight and upper arm circumrerence ≤ 23,5 cm. The government intervenes by providing additional food for recovery to pregnant women low nutritions.The purpose of this study was to see the role of nutrition and social support officers in compliance with supplementary food consumtion in pregnant woment with chronic energy deficiency. The research uses descriptive qualitative method. The informants in the study were 22 people, with 1 nutritionist, 4 midwaves, 6 Pregnant women with CED, 6 husbands, and 5 parent. Selection of informants is based on the principles of conformity and adequacy of information. The results showed that the knowledge of pregnant women about CED and supplementary food. In general was still lacking, it was shown that half of pregnant women did not know much about CED. the attitudes and motivation of pregnant women to consume biscuits because the nutrition officers recommended. The nutrition officer has carried out regular monitoring every month, but the additional food given at one time is not in accordance with the PMT 2020 technical guidelines which should be given in stages every month. And the intensity of education to pregnant women is still rare only at beginning of giving CED only. Social support from the majority family provides emotional support by encouraging and reminding them to consume CED. Compliance with CED consumption the majority of pregnant women regularly consume every day, only a small are less compliant in consuming CED. Conclusion, it is necessary to optimize the provision of CED biscuits accompanied by education to increase the motivation and knowledge of pregnant women in consuming CED biscuits to that the expected increase in nutritional status is maximally achieved.
