Abstract

Silage processing will increase the storage time of Total Mixed Fiber (TMF). The aim of this research was to obtain optimum incubation period of TMF silage with Sodium Diacetate addition. The research was held from March to June 2018 in Animal Feed and Nutrition Laboraturium of Animal Science Department, Agriculture Fakulty of Universitas Sriwijaya. Complete randomized designed (CRD) of 3 treaments and 3 replications were applied to this research. The treaments were P1 (21 days incubation period), P2 (30 days incubation period), P3 (45 days incubation period). Observered parameters were Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF), Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), Hemicellulose, Cellulose and lignin. The results indicated that incubation period treatments were effect (P<0,05) the Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) and Hemicellulose and were not effect (P>0,05) the Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), Cellulose and lignin of TMF silage. It is concluded that incubation period of TMF silage may up to 30 days with NDF 71,56%, ADF 50,22%, Hemicellulose 21,34%, Cellulose 25,04% and lignin 7,02%. Key word: Incubation Period,Silage, Sodium Diacetate, Total Mixed Fiber, Van Soest Analysis Abstrak Proses silase meningkatkan daya simpan Total Mixed Fiber (TMF). Peneitian ini bertujuan mengetahui lama masa inkubasi silase Total Mixed Fiber (TMF) dengan aditif Sodium diasetat (SDA). Peneitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai Juni 2018 di Laboraturium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Program Studi Teknologi dan Industri Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 jenis perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari P1 (Silase TMF dengan masa inkubasi 21 hari), P2 (Silase TMF dengan masa inkubasi 30 hari) dan P3 (Silase TMF dengan masa inkubasi 45 hari). Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah kandungan Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF), Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), Hemiselulosa, Selulosa dan lignin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama masa inkubasi memberikan pengaruh (P<0,05) pada silase TMF dengan penambahan SDA 7 g/kg terhadap nilai NDF dan Hemiselulosa serta menunjukkan lama masa inkubasi tidak memberikan pengaruh (P>0,05) pada silase TMF dengan penambahan SDA 7g/kg terhadap nilai ADF,selulosa dan lignin. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa silase TMF dengan penambahan SDA dengan dosis 7 g/kg pada masa inkubasi 30 hari. Nilai fraksi serat yaitu NDF 71,56%, ADF 50,22%, Hemiselulosa 21,34%, Selulosa 25,04% dan lignin 7,02%. Kata kunci : Fraksi serat, Masa inkubasi, Silase, Sodium diasetat, Total Mixed Fiber
