Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the influence of wages and economic growth on the Labor Force Participation Rate in the Province of South Sumatra in the period of 2003-2012. The data used in this research were the time series secondary data in the period of 2003-2012. The data were analyzed by using the multiple linear regression with the assumptions of classical hypothesis tests and statistical tests of the F-test and t-test. The research results indicated that the variable wages had a positive significant influence on the labor force participation rate while the variable economic growth had not significant influence on the labor force participation rate in the Province of South Sumatra.
