Abstract

The aims of this study are to determine the public's willingness to pay (WTP) in waste management and also to analyze the factors that influence the amount of willingness to pay. The research conducted by taking the primary data through the questioner toward 120 people as the respondents in Seberang Ulu I and Ilir Barat II. This study uses contingent valuation method (CVM) and multiple linear regression analysis. The result of this research show that 110 respondents willing to pay and 10 respondents claimed they are not willing to pay. The average value of WTP that willing to pay by respondents is Rp 5645.45. Age, income, job variables have a significant effect on WTP while education, number of dependents family and characteristics of slum have not significant effect on WTP.
