Abstract

This research discusses "Strengthening Social Capital in Pelancu Tourism Development". This research was conducted in Ulak Pandan Village, West Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive analysis method. This study uses the social capital theory of Robert Putnam. There are two types of informants in this study, namely key informants and supporting informants. The results of this study indicate that there are three aspects that indicate the strengthening of social capital that is in the manager in the development of tourism tourism in Ulak Pandan Village, namely: the formation of mutual trust, cooperation and solidarity, expansion of work networks (meaning an increase in the scale of work or economic networks). and also the form of agreement from the existence of rules that are made collectively. There are also forms of social life for rural communities that are better than the existence of social capital such as increased insight, cohesiveness, friendship, experience, harmony, environmental sustainability, unity among residents, and improving communication between fellow communities.
