Abstract
This research used population census data from the city of Palembang in 2000 to 2016. In this research, the prediction calculation is done in two ways, namely calculating the prediction Semi Average for even data and the Semi Average for odd data. From the results of the research it can be concluded that the population prediction analysis using the Semi Average Method can be used to predict the population number in 2020. Based on the calculation of the secondary data validation value of the previous year, because it produces values that are close to the truth. From the calculation of the accuracy of the Semi Average data method was measured even and the Semi Average Odd data using Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The MAPE value of the Semi Average method for even data was 8.2127% and the MAPE Semi Average value for odd data was 3.3979%. Because the MAPE value is <10% so the Semi Average Method has a very good performance.
