Abstract

Gold investing activities are recently have a significant experienced increase, especially during the current pandemic crisis that’s happening right now. In gold investing activities, investors are faced with investment decision actions, which in fact is not only influenced by rationality but also often influenced by irrationality factors. Behavior finance is become basis theoretical in this research, which explains the relationship between rationality and irrationality on investment activity. The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of psychological factors (overconfidence, risk tolerance) and demographic factors (gender, age, occupation, and income) on gold investment decision making in PT. Pegadaian Palembang City. The population in this research are investors who investing gold in PT. Pegadaian Palembang City with in 400 sample respondents. The sampling techniques used are purposive sampling. The analytical methods used are multiple linear regression. The results of this research showed that risk tolerance, and occupation not have significant effect on investment decisions, while overconfidence, gender, age, and income variables have significant effect on investment decisions.
