Abstract

Shares or stocks are one’s evident of ownership of a public company. Many studies and research have discovered that stock returns are determined by fundamental factors, including return on assets (ROA), debt to equity ratio (DER), equity per share (EPS) and price to book value (PBV). This study aims to observe the effect of ROA, DER, EPS and PBV on stock returns of companies in the agricultural subsector by performing multiple linear regression. The research conducted using all companies in the agricultural subsector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period of 2015 to 2019 as the sample. The sampling technique was carried out using the purposive sampling method. The research found that the ROA, DER and PBV variables have a negative and significant effect on stock returns, while PBV has a significant and positive effect on stock returns. Meanwhile, simultaneously, all variables are significantly affecting the stock returns.
