Abstract
Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui laju korosi baja AISI 1045 setelah diberikan quenching dengan variasi media pendingin yaitu dengan oli dengan kekentalan SAE-10, SAE-20, SAE-40 dan Air dengan menggunakan Bahan Karbon Sedang (BKS) jenis American Iron Stell Institute (AISI) 1045 yang dilakukan pemanasan pada suhu 900ºC. Setelah itu didinginkan dengan variasi media pendingin. Pengujian laju korosi dilakukan secara bertahap dengan jangka waktu 6 hari pada lingkungan korosif dengan elektrolit Hidrogen Klorida (HCl) konsentrasi 32%. Hasil pengamatan korosi dilakukan dengan metode kehilangan berat. Dengan hasil nilai laju korosi Air 3,512 IPY, OLI SAE-10 3,074 IPY, OLI SAE-20 2,832 IPY, 0LI SAE-40 2,716 IPY. Semakin tinggi viskositas larutan pendingin maka semakin kecil nilai laju korosinya Kata kunci: Perlakuan Panas, Baja AISI 1045, Laju Korosi
