Abstract
Efforts to improve the quality of housing and slums are carried out by each Regional Government, so that slum housing locations in the area will certainly be endeavored to be upgraded to decent housing and settlements. This will certainly change the location of slum housing that has been mapped by the Regional Government every year the slum housing location data will change. Article 98 Paragraph (3) Law Number 1 of 2011 on Housing and Settlement Areas mandates that the location of slums and slum settlements be determined by the regional government. This is not effective to be implemented, because the Local Government has an effort to improve the location of slums to be a habitable area. So the slum housing data can change every year. It is recommended that the determination of the location of slum housing be determined by a Decree of the Regional Head to be more effective in its implementation. Therefore, in Article 98 paragraph (3) of Law Number 1 of 2011 on Housing and Settlement, which reads “Further provisions regarding the determination of the location of slums are carried out by the regional government with regional regulations”, we recommend that the norms be changed to “Determination of slum locations. implemented by the Regional Government by stipulating the Decree of the Regional Head”.
