Abstract
In minimizing the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the government has implemented the Work From Home and PSBB policies which require all work to be transferred to the home, this policy has an impact on the economy of the community, one of which is in the transportation sector, namely the Simpang Empat public transport driver losing passengers and a decrease in income. This study aims to look at socio-economic conditions and find out the survival strategies of Simpang Empat public transport drivers during the Covid-19 pandemic in Prabumulih City. This study uses the concept of Edi Suharto’s Survival Strategy. Selection of informants using a purposive method. There are 6 main informants, namely the Simpang Empat public transport driver. The results of this study indicate that there has been a change in the socio-economic conditions of public transportation during the Covid-19 pandemic, both from the level of education, type of work, level of income, and ownership of goods. While the survival strategy used by Simpang Empat public transport drivers during the Covid-19 pandemic, the active strategy taken by public transport drivers is to add jobs and include family members such as wives to work, then the passive strategy that is taken is to save on food costs, then for their network strategy get help from the government.
