Abstract

Indigofera sp. leaves can be used as raw material in the manufacture of feed because it has good nutritional content of protein roughly 28.98%. This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of feed made from flour Indigofera sp. leaves in the formulation on growth, feed efficiency, and protein efficiency ratio of catfish feed. The research was carried out at the Fisheries Basic Laboratory of the Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Feed proximate analysis carried out at the Feed Nutrition Laboratory, Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Bogor Agricultural University. The design that used in the study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatment and three replications. The treatments used in this study were the level of use of Indigofera sp. P0 (0%) (without the addition Indigofera sp. leaves), P1 (addition of 10% Indigofera sp. leaves), P2 (addition of 20% Indigofera sp. leaves), P3 (addition of 30% Indigofera sp. leaves ), and P4 (addition of Indigofera sp. 40% leaves). The results showed that the use of 10% flour Indigofera sp. leaves in feed formulation yields absolute weight growth of fish 2.58%, absolute length growth of fish 2.59%, feed efficiency 79.85%, protein efficiency ratio 2.59%, and survival rate 96.29%.Water quality of rearing media were in the optimal range for catfish rearing. Temperature 26.6-27.8 oC, pH 6.5-7.7, dissolved oxygen 3.02-5.23 mg.L-1, and amonia 0.004-0.1 mg.L-1.
