Abstract

PT Bima Putra Abadi Citranusa (BPAC) is a subsidiary of Bomba Group engaged in the coal mining industry. Located in Lubuk Betung Village, Lahat Regency. This research was conducted because sump is often unable to accommodate runoff water. This problem can hinder mining activities that cause production to not be achieved. Therefore, an optimal effort is required for handling of water entering the pit. The total discharge of water entering the pit amounted to 1988.6 m3 per day derived from the discharge of runoff water and groundwater discharge. Therefore, sump is planned that can accommodate water that enters the pit with a length and width of the sump surface of 44 meters, the length and width of the base sump of 34 meters, the depth of sump 5 meters, and the slope of 45°. So that the planned sump volume can hold as much as 7730 m3 of water. The pump used to remove water from the sump is a DND 150 pump with HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) pipe. The pump can release water as much as 432 m3/hour with a total head of 35.56 m and discharge a pump power of 536.13 KW. With the discharge of water that enters as much as 1988.6 m3/day, the number of pump units planned to remove water from the pit as much as 1 unit. Settling pond is divided into 6 compartments with a length of settling pond of 109 m and a width of 28.5 m with a turn so that the distance of water flow is 196 m. The speed of water flow to get out of the pond settling is 0.0054 m/s and the base slope of the settling pond is 1.12x10-6 %.
