Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) merupakan salah satu bukti perkembangan teknologi yang dapat mempermudah segala pekerjaan sehari-hari. Salah satu contohnya adalah dalam penghematan energi listrik yang disebabkan oleh pemborosan daya yang sia-sia seperti lampu. Penerapan IoT dalam kehidupan sehari-hari membutuhkan sebuah protokol yang menghubungkan perangkat elektronik dengan internet salah satunya protokol Message Queuing Telemetry Transport. Penelitian ini menggunakan ESP8266 yang diprogram agar mampu bekerja sebagai Access Point dan juga mampu mendeteksi objek smartphone didalam ruangan. Proses penelitian ini dimulai dari mengukur nilai RSSI menggunakan ESP8266 yang telah diprogram sehingga mampu mendeteksi sekitarnya. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kontrol lampu berdasarkan nilai RSSI yang telah diubah menjadi nilai jarak menggunakan algoritma trilaterasi
