Abstract

Relations between Arab countries and Qatar run into problems in 2017. Diplomatic Crisis is caused by close relation between a group that classified by Gulf Cooperation Country is terrorist group, Ikhwanul Muslimin. Another reason is Qatar has a good relationship with Iran which is the enemy of another Arab countries. The effect of that 2, Arab Countries choose to cut diplomatic tie with Qatar. in the other side, with getting worse Gulf regional stability has an effect to the policy of countries outside of Middle East that has national interest, including United States. A couple of days after conflict, United States become mediator to resolve the problem. This Study using Nasional Interest by Jack C Plano and Ray Olton that got into 5 category it was Self Preservation, Independence, Military Security, Region Integrity, and Financial Well Being. United States Interests in Diplomatic Crisis between Arab Countries and Qatar has divided by 2 Interest, Political Security Interests and Political Economy Interests. US Political Security Interests related to US Hegemony in Gulf. With getting banned diplomatic relations with Arab Countries, Qatar choose to make a contact with United States enemy, Iran. Tie between Qatar and Iran including maritime security, bilateral deal, etc. US Political Economy Interest including in and out oil carriers route between Qatar and US. The only way to oil carriers bring Qatar oil to US is using Hormuz strait surrounded by Arab countries and Iran. If the conflicts getting worst, theres a possibilities for Arab countries to blockade Hormuz strait which can have an impact to US interest, oil.
