Abstract

This study aims to examine the economic convergence as well as the factors that influence it by Province in Sumatra Island and Borneo Island using 12 provincial panel data in Sumatra Island and Borneo Island from 2006-2015. The analysis method used is descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis of panel data with Fixed Effect Model (REM). The result of this research are ( I) Convergence convergence of sigma (sigma convergence) and beta convergence between provinces in Sumatera Island and Kalimantan island; (2) Domestic Investment Variable (PMDN) has a positive and significant influence while the value of net exports has a negative and significant influence on the island of Sumatra; (3) Domestic Investment (PMDN) has a negative and significant influence while the value of net exports has a positive and significant influence on the island of Borneo.
