Abstract

Personal protective equipment (PPE) in RSUD M Yunus Bengkulu city has not been implemented optimally. It is proved that were still nurses who did not use gloves when blood transfusion in isolation room Covid-19. The purpose of this study is to analyze the PPE usage behavior for nurses in isolation room Covid-19 at RSUD M. Yunus. The type of this study is descriptive analytics with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study was 362 nurses in RSUD Dr M Yunus. The samples of the study amount to 104 chosen people with purposive sampling method and data analysis using Chi-Square. The results showed that the majority of nurses had good behavior in using PPE on masks, gloves, face shields, head protection, body armor and protective shoes as many as 74 people (71.2%) while nurses who had bad behavior in using PPE, namely on glasses. protectors as many as 30 people (28.8%). Variables related to the PPE usage behavior are the companion's behavior variable (P-value = 0.003) and the supervisory variable (P-value = 0.0001). The variables that are not related to the PPE usage behavior are age, gender, length of work, knowledge, and attitude. For RSUD Dr. M Yunus Bengkulu City in order to be able to provide socialization to all nurses about the importance of the PPE usage with standard types of PPE and PPE during the pandemic era by having briefing every morning before doing its job. The need for affirmation from the hospital management to each head of the room to carry out regular supervision through the tools available at the hospital to monitor the behavior of using PPE on nurses. Therefore, it is necessary to make stricter sanctions against nurses who do not use PPE and can apply rewards for those who use PPE properly and correctly.
