Abstract

SUMMARY The stage of mining activities carried out before taking valuable minerals or coal is stripping the overburden. The usual method is to use the ripping method. This study aims to examine the effect of ripping-dozing activity on the productivity of the loading and unloading equipment such as PC 2000 in the Pit 1 North West Banko mining area. This is because in the period June – August 2020 the productivity of PC 2000 is 450 – 500 bcm/hour, while the company's production target is 630 bcm/hour. Research data consists of primary data and secondary data. Primary data in the form of loading and unloading equipment (PC 2000) and hauling time (HD 785), bulldozer equipment cycle time (harrow), ripper penetration depth, development factor (swell factor). Secondary data consists of location maps, PC 2000 equipment specifications, Bulldozer D375, HD 785. Data processing is carried out by calculating the productivity of digging tools, harrows and conveyances when ripping activities are carried out only and when ripping-dozing activities are carried out in the process of stripping overburden material. The results of data processing showed that the productivity of the conveyance (PC 2000) increased from 415 bcm/hour when ripping was done to 640 bcm/hour when ripping-dozing activity was carried out. This causes the productivity of the conveyance to also increase from 101.62 bcm/hour to 113.57 bcm/hour. Bulldozer productivity decreased from 864 bcm/hour to 413 bcm/hour. It means, the ripping-dozing activity is more effectively used in overburden material dispersing activities as indicated by the increased productivity of the loading and unloading equipment, so production target can be achieved and in terms of income from the loading and unloading equipment, the revenue has increased from IDR4,759,924,050/month to IDR8,699,112,450/ month Keywords: ripping, ripping-dozing, productivity, load digging tools, hauling tools
