Abstract

The case of HIV/AIDS is one of the biggest public health problems in the world and is increasing every year in Indonesia. Until 2019, Dinas Kesehatan South Sumatra Province noted that 52 people were infected with HIV in the age range of 15-19 years. The purpose of this study was to produce an ideal health promotion media about HIV/AIDS in adolescents in the city of Palembang. This study uses a descriptive research design with qualitative methods. The respondents of this study were 12 high school students and 6 expert informants, namely 1 person from the Palembang City Communications and Information Office, 1 person from the Palembang City Health Office research, elements of the Principal and Biology Teacher. The results show that the ideal health promotion media about HIV/AIDS for adolescents is an animated video that is distributed through the Youtube platform so that it is easier to understand and easily accessible. The resulting animation video is 3 minutes 12 seconds long. After testing, it was seen that there was an increase in knowledge and attitudes of teenagers, namely 10 students (83.3%) experienced an increase in knowledge and 7 students (58.3%) experienced an increase in attitude. The researcher suggests that relevant agencies and schools need to provide equitable education, especially regarding the issue of HIV/AIDS for young people with innovative media such as animated videos.
