Abstract
This study aims to study the performance of the cooking oil spinner for potato chips with an timer the tool. This research was conducted from February 2021 to April 2021 in the Workshop Machinery Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Indralaya Campus, Sriwijaya University. This research uses descriptive data method and presentation in the form of tables and graphs, which then the data becomes a reference in making a description of the performance test of the cooking oil slicer (spinner). Parameters observed include draining time (s), effective capacity (kg/hour), effective power requirement (kW/kg), draining efficiency (%), material damage (%).The results showed that the spinner using a timer was better than the spinner without a timer. With the best draining efficiency obtained in the A2B4 treatment of 87.8%, with a drain time of 120 seconds, the effective capacity value of 7.907 kg/hour, the effective power requirement of 0.193 kW/kg, and 6.21% material damage. The increase in the rate of electrical energy demand occurs along with the length of time used. The lower the drain efficiency value, the better the results obtained.
