Abstract

PT Satria Mayangkara Sejahtera (PT SMS) is a coal mining company located in West Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province. In 2020 PT SMS conducted a revision of the mine feasibility study due to the discovery of the D seam location so that a new mining design plan was needed. The production target set by PT SMS in 2021 is 173,725 tons. The technical design of the monthly mining sequence is needed to achieve the production target which consists of the monthly mining pit sequence and the quarterly disposal sequence. The design of the embankment to accommodate the volume of overburden resulting from the monthly mining sequence is carried out using two methods, namely inpit dump and outpit dump. The design was made using Minescape 5.7, X-pack 7.1, Google Earth and ArchGis 10.8 software. The geometry of the mining slope is 10 meters high, 7 meters wide bench, and 75o slope angle with a safety factor of 1.3. Based on the production target of 173,725 tons of coal in 2021 and the overburden removal target of 1,324,593 BCM. The monthly mining sequence design has a progress direction following strike seam D, namely from northwest to southeast. Mining is done on a down dip basis. Assuming match factor 1, the number of tools needed for coal getting activities is 1 unit of Sany SY215H Hydraulic Excavator paired with 2 units of Hino 500 Ranger FM 260 JD dump truck. The overburden stripping activity requires 3 units of Sany SY245H Hydraulic Excavator and 12 Hino 500 Ranger FM 260 JD Dump Trucks.
