Abstract

This research is entitled "The Development of Islam in Belalau, 1925-1935: (Material Contribution to the Islamic History Course of History Education, Sriwijaya University)". The purpose of this research is to find out the development of Islam in Belalau which begins with the entry of a religious figure, Uppu Belunguh, to the Belalau area, with the aim and purpose of spreading Islam. This research was conducted from 12 March 2020 to 15 April 2020 in Belalau historical research methodology with the process of collecting data through documentation, interviews and literature study. This research finds results on how Uppu Belunguh influences and develops Islam in the Belalau community. The approach used in this research is a sociological approach, an anthropological approach and a religious approach. Based on this research, it can be concluded that Uppu Belunguh succeeded in influencing and developing Islam in the Belalau community. Keywords : Society, Uppu Belunguh, Islam
