Abstract
Musi river water is one of the important components for the people of Palembang City which is used as clean water. In 2019 the total ammonia concentration in the Musi River waters was 0.42 mg/l – 1.31 mg/l which according to Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021 the first class river ammonia quality standard is 0.1 mg/l. This study uses quantitative methods using univariate and spatial analysis. The sample in this study was a water sample with 6 measurement points and 48 people living in the Musi River watershed in Ilir Timur II District, Lawang Kidul sub-district and 1 ilir. The results of the ammonia concentration obtained from 6 measurement points are all negative in the amount of -0.1172 – -0.1899. In accordance with the quality standard of PP No. 22 of 2021 for the NH3 parameter of 0.1 mg/l, it shows that all points have normal ammonia levels. These results indicate that the water quality of the Musi River in Ilir Timur II District in ammonia parameters is getting better than 2019. So the mapping The results of ammonia concentration in the Musi River waters are all green or can be categorized as good condition although there are still many activities found directly in the river such as toilets, throwing garbage and throwing kitchen waste into the river. It can be assumed that the high water discharge of the Musi River and the strong currents make the water change fast, it is possible that the source of the pollutant has been reduced so that the ammonia level will also decrease. However, the degree of acidity (pH) is not in accordance with the quality standard of PP No. 22 of 2021, where the quality standard of class 1 river water ranges from 6-9. While the results obtained from 6 measurement points ranged from 4-5, it means that it can be said that the pH parameter is not in accordance with the specified quality standard. In addition, the frequency of the behavior of disposing of public domestic waste and skin health of irritant contact dermatitis were found in the bad category, but the behavior of disposing of public waste and toileting activities were in the good category.
