Abstract
This study aims to determine the performance of the automatic temperature and time controller applied to the Deep Fryer. This research was conducted from January 2021 to March 2021 at the Workshop Machinery Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Indralaya Campus, Sriwijaya University. The method described in this study uses descriptive methods, comparing the results of the study with two treatment factors that are repeated three times, the temperature and time factors have three levels, namely a temperature of 140°C in 20 minutes, a temperature of 160°C in 25 minutes and a temperature of 180°C in 30 minutes. This research was conducted in two stages, namely the design and testing phase of the tool. The research data is presented in the form of tables and graphs. Parameters measured include Frying time and temperature measurement, cassava chips material yield, fuel requirements, electrical energy requirements, and Water content testing. The results showed that the correct temperature and time in the frying process of cassava chips will affect the yield of the frying material, as well as the fuel and electrical energy used. This also affects the yield of the chips
