Abstract
Cultivation of verticulture is a method that can increase the productivity of seaweed and optimalize the use of field vertically by using net pocket to protect from predators.This study aimed to analyze the daily and weekly growth rate of seaweed and to analyze the highest and the lowest growth of seawed in each depth and to analyze the relationship of chemical physical parameter to the depth. The method of vertikulture used the construction of 3x6 m with planting space of 1 m. The measurement of seaweed growth was conducted once a week for 42 days and the measurement of parameter like temperature, salinity, brightness, current velocity, nitrate, phosphate and pH was conducted three times during the research. The data were analyzed by using one way anova and further testing of LSD (Least significant difference). It was found that there was no value differences of chemical physical parameters in each depth. Based on the weekly growth rate, the hignest growth were on the depth of 0-2 m and the hignest daily growth rate was on the depth of 0 m with percentage of 2,16% the lowest growth one was on the depth of 10 m with percentage of -1,43%. The method of verticulture on the depth of 0-2 m is good to cultivate the seaweed.
