Abstract

This research entitled "The Production Process of the Crime Tracking News Program at ANTV" by Tia Agustina. Research Objectives: To examine how the production process of Criminal Footprint news from the pre- production, production, post-production processes. The theory used is the Gatekeeping theory with the Bruce Westly and Malcom McLean model, explaining how gatekeepers are tasked with selecting and sorting sources and selecting information that is appropriate and not broadcast, then broadcast to the audience. The method emphasized here is a qualitative method using data collection methods. Data collection was carried out through direct observation. From the results of data analysis in this study, it was found that the production process is divided into three stages, pre-production, production, and post-production. Of the three stages, there is the role of the gatekeeper who selects the contents of the program, either through scripts, videos, and pictures Keywords: Production Process, Gatekeeping Theory, ANTV, Criminal Trails
