Abstract

Background: Class I and II angle malocclusions have their own characteristics, one of which is the width of the intercanine arch. Several studies stated that the width of the intercanine arch was narrower in class II malocclusions than in class I, but other studies stated that there was no difference in the width of the intercanine arches in the two malocclusions.Objective: This study aimed to compare the width of the intercanine arch between class I and II angle malocclusions in the permanent dentition. Methods: The type of research carried out is informa the literature review on 10 journals with the same research method. Results: The results showed that 7 out of 10 journals stating there are significant differences in arch width intercanine between malocclusion angle Class I and II period of permanent teeth Conclusion: It is concluded that the arch width intercanine more narrowly on malocclusion angle Class II than Class I period of permanent teeth.
