Abstract

Therapeutic communication is a professional communication that done by the health workers totheir patients or clients, which have planned to achieve the goal of patient healing process.Therapeutic communication is one of skills that must be have by the health workers to establishrelationships with patients.Patients in this research were Covid 19 patients. Is not only abouttheir physical, but also psychological. Therefore many patients dont accept and angry when theyare tested positive for Covid 19. The presence of nurses is needed in the self realization process.The purposes of this research is to know about therapeutic communication that have been doneby the nurses to Covid 19 patient in isolation room RSUD DR. H. Mohammad Rabain MuaraEnim, and to know about supporting and inhibiting factors of the therapeutic communicationprocess in isolation room.In this research, researcher used therapeutic communication theoryby Suryani (2015) that includes four process thatare, preparation,orientation,work,andtermination. The methods used in this research by using in-depth interviews, observation, anddocumentation. The resultshows thattherapeutic communication that done by nurses toCovid19 patient consists of four process, specifically preparation, orientation, work, and termination.The supporting factors of the therapeutic communication by nurses to Covid 19 patient in RSUD DR. H. Mohammad Rabain Muara enim is the competence and attitude. And inhibiting factors ofthe therapeutic communication process is an APD, self realization, and attitude of the patientfamilythatdifficulttoeducate.
