Abstract

The smallholder mining’s product that could be bought by PT Timah Tbk must fulfill the purchase terms, namely the Sn content ≥70%. Nevertheless, the smallholder mining’s product has low Sn content, so it can be utilized by tin partners as distributors of smallholder tin mining’s product with PT Timah Tbk. Therefore, the tin partners need to do the optimum and efficient mineral processing, both technically and economically. One of the device that can be used for improve the Sn content is jig. This study aims to analyse the best experiment’s variable to provide optimum washing results, calculate Sn losses of the washing process, calculate investment cost and feasibility by using jig on tin washing. On analyze jig performance, this study using gravity concentration methods with jig and grain counting analysis,while in counting the investment, the discounted cashflow is used. The most optimum washing results are provide by the experiment with 34L/Min water discharge, 0,6mm stroke length and 21rpm frequency of strokes, which produced concentrate with Sn content 72,40% and tailing with Sn content 0,64% and also recovery in the amount of 92,65. As on this study generated CAPEX of Rp37.542.956,16 and OPEX of Rp82.524.437,43/year. Therefore on the feasibility analysis provide NPV of Rp439.337.313,94, IRR of 27,89%, PVR of 0,404, Gross B/C of 1,404, PBP at 2,78 years and BEP at 56,86kg. Based on the feasibility analysis criteria, tin washing investment used jig are feasible to run or work on.
