Abstract

The objectives of this study were : (1) to identify the entrepreneurial characteristics of kangkung vegetable farmers in Talang Keramat Village, Banyuasin Regency; (2) to determine the performance of kangkung vegetable farming in Talang Keramat Village, Banyuasin Regency; and (3) to analyze the correlation between entrepreneurial characteristics and the performance kangkung farming in Talang Keramat Village, Banyuasin Regency. The research was conducted in Talang Keramat Village, Talang Kelapa Sub-district, Banyuasin Regency. Determination of the location of this study was carried out purposively, with the consideration that in the sub-district entrepreneurial activities occur. The research was carried out in September 2019. The results showed that (1) the dimensions of entrepreneurial characteristics including self-confidence, hard work, responsibility, future orientation and leadership were categorized as very good; (2) the performance of farming in terms of income shows that the majority of respondents have relatively low income; (3) the correlation between entrepreneurial characteristics and farm performance has a positive and insignificant correlation with a correlation level of 0.341 or 34.1 percent.
