Abstract

Tanaman nangka (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam) merupakan tanaman yang termasuk dalam famili moraceae. Daun tanaman nangka mengandung metabolit sekunder meliputi flavonoid dan fenolik yang dapat berpotensi sebagai imunomodulator. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak etanol daun nangka terhadap jumlah sel T CD4, jumlah leukosit, limfosit, monosit dan neutrofil total serta makroskopik dan mikroskopik organ limpa pada tikus putih jantan yang diinduksi bakteri Salmonella thypimurium. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengelompokkan hewan uji menjadi 6 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kelompok normal (0,5 mL/kgBB NaCMC 1%), kontrol negatif (0,5 mL/kgBB NaCMC 1%), kontrol positif (Stimuno®), dan kelompok pemberian ekstrak dengan dosis 200 mg/kgBB, 400 mg/kgBB, dan 600 mg/kgBB. Tikus uji kecuali kelompok normal, diinduksi S. thypimurium pada hari ke-8 secara intraperitoneal dengan dosis 0,5 mL x 105 CFU/mL. Total fenolik dan flavonoid yang terkandung dalam ekstrak etanol daun angka secara berturut-turut sebesar 157,92 mgGAE/g ekstrak dan 58,14 mgQE/g ekstrak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun nangka tidak mempengaruhi jumlah sel T CD4 tetapi menurunkan jumlah sel leukosit, sel limfosit, sel monosit dan sel neutrofil serta dapat menyebabkan perubahan makroskopik limpa dan perubahan mikroskopik limpa tikus putih.
