Abstract

In the electric power system, there are three parts, namely the generation system, transmission line system, and distribution channel system. The transmission line system can be useful for distributing electrical energy from the generating system to the electrical substation and also from an electric substation to another electrical substation, which will later be distributed to the distribution channel system. So it takes a good reliability and quality system on the transmission line in order to minimize the occurrence of a disturbance. On the transmission line there is a protection system in it, a protection system that is often used using a distance relay or distance relay. The relay has a type, one of which is an impedance relay. The distance relay can only indicate the fault area due to a short circuit, but this relay cannot determine the location of the fault specifically. Therefore, the results of the measurement of voltage, current, and impedance methods are used as a calculation for determining the location of the fault. In manual calculations using the impedance method, the value of each zone is zone 1, zone 2, and zone 3 on the secondary side, each with a value of 3.93987 ohms, 5.90981 ohms, and 26,16476 ohms. Then for the calculation of the location of the disturbance obtained a value of 16.66 km. then the percentage of error values in each zone is 0.1492%, 0.1323%, and 142,896%. Then for the percentage of the location of the disturbance obtained by 1.244% error value.
