Abstract

Coronavirus Disease-19 (Covid-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new type of coronavirus. Some patients who are exposed to Covid-19 do not show any symptoms. These typo of patient can undergo independent treatment at home, but most patients who complain of symptoms require treatment at the hospital. The objective of this study is to explore in-depth the experience of healing patients with a history of Covid-19 disease while undergoing treatment. This study uses a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. The data were collected by means of in-depth interviews with 4 key informants and 2 non-key informants. The Colaizzi method was used in the data analysis of this study. This study obtained 3 themes, namely the perceptions of the Covid-19 disease with sub-themes including the understanding of the Covid-19 disease, the causes of the Covid-19 disease, the signs and symptoms of the Covid-19 disease, people who are at risk and easily exposed to the Covid-19 disease, the Covid-19 examination, the stigma felt by Covid-19 patients;the activity while undergoing treatment result in 1 sub-themes, namely leading a health lifestyle; the patient's reasons and expectations for Covid-19 treatment resulted in 2 sub-themes, namely the reasons for undergoing treatment and the patient’s expectations for Covid-19 treatment. The results of this study are expected to be taken into consideration by the health workers or further researchers to conduct further research on appropriate treatment for Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment at home and in hospitals.
