Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain empirical evidence of the effect of sales growth, asset structure, free cash flow, firm size on debt policy with profitability as a moderating variable in pharmaceutical sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, the research samples obtained were 7 companies with a research period from 2015-2020 so that the unit of analysis was 42. The design of this research was descriptive quantitative. The analysis technique in this research is multiple linear regression analysis method using absolute difference test. The results show that asset structure has a significant negative effect on debt policy. Meanwhile, sales growth and firm size have no effect on debt policy. Profitability as a moderating variable cannot moderate the effect of the independent variables. The implication of this research is that the company must pay attention to the factors that can influence the company's debt policy, especially on the asset structure so that funding decisions are more optimal.
