Abstract

Kangkong is a type of vegetable that is popular with the community. Therefore, to improve and maintain soil quality, it is necessary to use organic fertilizers, one of which is liquid organic fertilizer from kangkong waste and solid cow dung. This study aims to evaluate the effect of liquid fertilizer from kangkong waste with the addition of solid cow dung as a comparison in determining soil quality and growth of kangkong on Ultisols. This research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Soil Department, Sriwijaya University. The study consisted of 2 stages, that is: 1) obtaining a ratio of kangkong waste and cow dung to produce the best liquid fertilizer with a composition of 110 g : 10 g (A1); 100 g : 20 g (A2); 90 g : 30 g (A3); 80 g : 40 g (A4); 70 g : 50 g (A5). 2) get the best liquid fertilizer dilution in the cultivation of kangkong plants on Ultisols with treatment A0 : 0 mL + 1000 mL; A1 : 50 mL + 950 mL; A2 : 100 mL + 900 mL; A3 : 150 mL + 850 mL; A4 : 200 mL + 800 mL; A5 : 250 mL + 750 mL; A6 : 300 mL + 700 mL; dan A7 : NPK 2,17 g (187 kg ha-1 Urea, 311 kg ha-1 SP36, 112 kg ha-1 KCl). The results showed that the best liquid organic fertilizer from the ratio of kangkong waste and solid cow manure on A4 treatment with a composition of 80 g kangkong waste: 40 g solid cow dung which has a pH of 3.4, N-Total of 0.08%, a volume of 450 mL, temperature as high as 29o C, smell or aroma of strong tapai acid fermentation, yellow-brown in color. The results of the ANOVA test showed a significant effect on plant height, leaf area, fresh and dry weight of kangkong plants and soil pH. The results showed that the best dilution for the growth of ground kangkong plants on Ultisol is a A1 : 50 mL + 950 mL.
