Abstract
Repeated welding on the temporary wellhead to conductor casing pipe is one of the jobs performed by onshore drilling Rigs in oil and gas Wells. It gives heat thermal influences repeatedly on temporary wellhead which is interesting to study. The purpose of this research is to analyze changes in the physical and mechanical properties of the temporary wellhead due to repeated welding so that it can provide recommendations on how many times the limit for repeated welding is safe for temporary wellheads. This research has two objects, an actual temporary wellhead in the field and AISI 4130 steel as some replicas with some testing. The results obtained indicated that repeated welding could increase grain size G microstructure, carbon equivalent (Ceq), hardness, and emergence widmanstatten ferrite on fifth welding in the heat-affected zone (HAZ). It increases toughness in the fusion zone (FZ). Repeated welding on temporary wellhead is safe in physical and mechanical properties till four-time welding.
