Abstract

This study aims to determine what sectors are the leading sectors in Padangsidimpuan City and how the influences of these leading sectors on the economic growth of Padangsidimpuan City. The analytical tool used in this research is to use regional economic analysis tools consisting of Shift-share, LQ, Klassen Typology, and SWOT. The results of this study indicate the Wholesale and Retail Trade sector; Car and Motorcycle Repair is the leading sector of Padangsidimpuan City, as well as the sector with the highest development in the year of observation.
