Abstract

The high growth potential of cobia fish and quality meat can make cobia fish a promising commodity. This triggers the limitations of cobia fish in nature to be very limited, so these fish are cultivated in controlled tanks and floating net cages to reduce the declining fish availability. Salinity is one of the water quality that is needed by fish for growth and metabolic processes. This research was conducted in December 2020 using different salinity levels, namely 5 ppt, 15 ppt, 40 ppt and control 32 ppt in the aquarium with three repetitions of each treatment. The length growth value obtained in different salinity treatments was 15 ppt of 5.013 ± 0.273 cm/tail. In the results of long growth there was no significant difference to the treatment given. While the highest weight growth value in the salinity treatment of 32 ppt was 25.585 ± 1.925 g/tail. In weight growth has a significant difference to the treatment given. The survival rate of fish reached 100% at 32 ppt and 15 ppt treatments. This greatly affects the metabolic processes of fish, especially fish osmoregulation which plays an important role in the survival of fish treated with different salinities.
