Abstract
In the electrical system disturbances will inevitably occur. There are many types of disturbances in the electrical system, one of which is a short circuit whose time of occurrence is unpredictable and very dangerous both for the electrical system and for consumers. To overcome this disturbance in the electrical system is to use a protective device, one type of protection device commonly used in the electrical system is a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker works to disconnect the electrical circuit in order to minimize the location of the disturbance so that it does not damage the electrical system equipment, does not interfere with the distribution of electric power, and does not endanger consumers. This circuit breaker has limitations so it is necessary to determine the breaker capacity for several points in the electric power distribution system. The author took the location for this research at seduduk putih Palembang substation that for selected disturbance points are Beo feeder, Kenari feeder, busbar, transformer with the magnitude of the short circuit fault current at each point in sequence are: 5,776 kA, 5,412 kA, 5,773 kA, 8,086 kA. For the capacity, namely: the transformer is 31.5 kA, the busbar is 12.5 kA, the Kenari feeder is 12.5 kA, the Beo feeder is 12.5.
