Abstract

The growth of the elderly in Palembang City has increased from 99,834 people in 2015 increasing to 125,794 people in 2019 with a percentage of the total population in Palembang City which is 7.56%. In the future, the proportion of elderly growth will continue to increase which raises housing problems that respond to the physical and psychological limitations of the elderly, such as nursing homes/wredhas/graha elderly but which are in accordance with the urban lifestyle. Population growth that is not directly proportional to the availability of land, this elderly friendly integrated residence can be designed vertically by considering the height of the floor and adjusting the circulation of the mobility of the elderly who need a wider circulation area. Therefore, the residential concept in the form of an Elderly Friendly Apartment is adapted to the needs of the elderly, whether in wheelchairs or not. Open space areas are added on each floor as gardens and green areas to respond to the psychological and physical degradation of the elderly and the circulation that adjusts. The facade of the building is adapted to the concept of a natural residential house which makes the Elderly Friendly Apartme nt more comfortable for residents so that it can become an integrated residential area for the elderly.
