Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of sharia contracts on the Islamicity Performance Index with Non Performing Finance as a variable that mediates the relationship between sharia contracts, namely buying and selling contracts, profit sharing financing contracts, ijarah contracts and wadiah contracts on the Islamicity Performance Index of shariah bank in Indonesia. The sample in this study used a purposive sampling technique, namely Islamic commercial banks registered on the OJK as many as 12 banks for the 2017-2020 period. The results of this study indicate buying and selling contracts, profit sharing financing contracts, ijarah contracts, wadiah contract have a significant positive effect on the Islamicity Performance Index while Non-Performing Finance has a negative effect on the Islamicity Performance Index. Then the sale and purchase contract, profit sharing and ijarah have a positive effect on Non-Performing Finance. However, the wadiah contract does not affect Non-Performing Finance. Furthermore, the results showed that Non Performing Finance was able to mediate the relationship between sale and purchase contracts, profit sharing financing contracts, ijarah contracts and wadiah contracts on the Islamicity Performance Index.
